As an artist, I strive to capture the essence of a place and time, in order to create pieces that are both visually stunning and emotionally impactful, evoking strong positive responses and bringing happiness.
Often I start with an image or memory of a place. Distant memories mingle with a sprinkling of imagination to create an evocative, beautiful painting. An image in which we can lose ourselves and find what we are looking for.
My art is mainly created using oils or acrylics and palette knives, frequently incorporate textural qualities to create a feel of the inherent structures of the landscapes.
Beautiful landscapes and moody skies fuel my passion.
The wild untamed nature of rugged mountains, rivers, lakes and coasts, appeals to the artist in me.
I'm always in awe of the grandeur of the mountains and captivated by the forever changing light as it plays across the landscape throughout the seasons, but for me, winter in particular is a very special time in the mountains.
